Consul-General Song Yumin met with Hon Will Hodgman, the new Premier of Tasmania

On 14 May, Consul-General to Melbourne Song yumin met with the Hon Will Hodgman, the new Premier of Tasmania, in Hobart. Consul-General Song started by congratulating him on taking over as the 45th Premier of Tasmania and expressed hope that under his leadership, the Tasmanian government would continue to further develop friendly relations with China, strengthen friendly exchanges with Fujian Province and expand their cooperation in trade, economy, education, and tourism.

Premier Hodgeman said that he visited China soon after taking office in the delegation led by Prime Minister Tony Abbott and was received by President Xi Jinping. He agreed with Consul-General Song and said he is ready to work more closely with the Chinese Consulate.
