There is no limit to the amount of currency you can bring into or take out of Australia. However, you must declare amountsof AUD10,000 or more in Australian currency or foreign equivalent. Forms are available online.

Travellers can also carry travellers cheques, money orders and other ‘bearer negotiable instruments’. These must be declared if an Officer asks you.
