The Education Office of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Melbourne, under the Ministry of Education, has the following main responsibilities:

Promoting exchange and cooperation between China and Victoria and Tasmania in Australia in the fields of education, science and technology, including the provision of information about the development of China's education, science and technology to the Australian administrative departments and other organizations concerning education, science and technology.

Promoting the mutual visits of the educational and scientific delegations, the exchanges of scholars and students, the links and cooperation between institutions of the two countries in the fields of education, science and technology.

Providing information about studying in China.

Promoting the teaching of Chinese in Victoria and Tasmania.

Providing services to Chinese scholars and students within the mandate of the Education Office, including all the Chinese scholars and students in Victoria and Tasmania.

To further promote Sino-Australian educational exchange and cooperation, the following information, which will be subjected to change and updated, is provided.
